EastEnders fans have Denise Fox to thank for bringing back one of the soap's most controversial storylines.
Fans of the soap have loudly complained about the ongoing bingate storyline raging on for nearly eight months on-and-off, sporadically shifting focus away from other, more popular plots.
Mercifully, bingate seems to finally be over thanks to an appearance from the mayor at Walford's Easter Fayre in Monday's episode (April 17).
Ostensibly brought in as a special celebrity guests by Carmel Kazemi (Bonnie Langford) to greet her constituents, everything went pear-shaped as Denise accused of her "ripping apart" Walford in front of the whole square.
"You talkin' about community is a bit rich, innit?" Denise quipped. "What the issue is is that you try make it sound like you're one of the people. No, you're the woman with oversized bling around your neck. And you know what? It should be you who would be listening to us.
"So why are you pulling down the tower blocks? People who lived round here for years are being shipped off so you can cleanse the place.
"You're putting up flats which no-one around here - which was born here - could actually afford! As for the bins, we never know whether they're going to be empty from one day to the next."
Speaking truth to power seemed to work in this case, as the mayor agreed to investigate the bin crisis in hopes of putting an end to it once and for all.
And not a moment too soon, according to fans (warning: NSFW tweets below):
