Anna Knight is set to face a terrifying ordeal in EastEnders next week.

Her drink gets spiked, but eagle-eyed fans of the BBC One soap have already 'rumbled' the culprit. In a shocking twist, fans believe they've figured out who's behind the drugging of Anna Knight.

Anna, portrayed by Molly Rainford, will endure a horrifying experience later this month when her drink is tampered with during an episode slated for Tuesday, July 16. Anna, along with friends Felix, Freddie and sister Gina, venture out for a night at Peggys.

However, danger lurks as her drink is interfered with. Initially, Anna's peculiar behaviour is attributed to alcohol consumption by her friends, and the incident goes unnoticed.

But it soon becomes evident that her antics are disproportionate to the small amount of alcohol she has actually consumed, causing concern among her loved ones.

In a groundbreaking move and a digital first for EastEnders, viewers will be able to access an exclusive five-part mini-series via a QR code. This code will appear within the main episode, guiding the audience to a link where they can select their preferred viewing platform.

The digital series offers a unique perspective, enabling viewers to witness the incident from both Anna's viewpoint and that of her friends, as confirmed by the BBC soap.

However, even before the episode airs, fans have already deduced who might be responsible for spiking Anna's drink. On a Reddit thread, fans shared their reactions to the upcoming storyline.

In the comment section of a post, an individual expressed: "I'm glad she's getting something good to work with, i hope she does it well! ! But I wonder who spikes her."

Quick to speculate, fans suggested that her boyfriend Bobby Beale (played by Clay Milner Russell) could be the culprit, especially given the actor's imminent departure from the soap.

Earlier this year, in April, it was revealed that Clay was turning his back on EastEnders. After five remarkable years on Albert Square, he took the "difficult decision" to bid adieu to the show.

One fan surmised that out of jealousy, Bobby might resort to spiking Anna's drink if he felt she and Freddie were growing too close. They speculated: "Maybe Bobby seeing as he's leaving. Maybe he fears her and Freddie are getting too close and gets jealous, spikes her, and it all goes t**s up."

Another commented: "There's a little psycho deep within him, I'd like to see him snap and release the beast." Meanwhile, another fan penned their hopes for an intriguing plot development, expressing: "Should be an interesting storyline this # EastEnders hope this isn't part of Bobby's exit storyline though that he spikes Anna and has to leave."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
