'EastEnders' shares another glimpse at Harry Redknapp's cameo

EastEnders has offered a new look at Harry Redknapp's upcoming cameo on the soap.

His arrival comes as Sonia's (Natalie Cassidy) dad Rocky (Brian Conley) tell his friends and neighbours that he’s pals with the I'm A Celebrity winner, something they fail to believe.

However, much to their surprise the former West Ham manager, who hails from the East End, does turn up in Walford.

Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) is thrilled to meet him and asks Redknapp to sign his beloved West Ham shirt.

A new picture shows Redknapp at the bar of the famous pub with a pen in hand to sign it while another snap sees Danny hold up the Hammers shirt behind the bar as wife Linda (Kellie Bright) looks elated.

Redknapp has made no secret of his desire for a role on the soap but he's now said he's keen for a role in Coronation Street.

Asked whether he’d like to pay a return visit to Walford, the former Premier League boss answered: “I’d love to."

"I’m always available and they’d better hurry up because I’m sure Coronation Street will be trying to get me now," he went on. "I’m starting to perfect my Manchester accent, so Mick [Danny Dyer] will have to invite me back to the Queen Vic quick.”

Redknapp's cameo will air on Friday 9 July at 8.35pm on BBC One, but the episode is also currently available to watch on BBC iPlayer too.
