EastEnders to introduce Teddy Mitchell’s ex-wife in new story
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has announced the casting of Teddy Mitchell’s ex-wife Nicola, who will join the show this autumn.
Nicola will be played by Laura Doddington, who is best known for her appearances in Doctors, Holby City and The Midwich Cuckoos.
In scenes that will air later this year, Nicola will turn up in Albert Square uninvited. That will be a shock for Teddy, who has been desperate to make a fresh start with his boys.

When she arrives, she wastes no time introducing herself to the rest of the Mitchell clan — and she also wants to make amends with her sons, Harry and Barney.
Teddy isn’t impressed that Nicola has arrived in his new neighbourhood, but she's determined to make her presence felt. Whether his ex-husband likes it or not.
In recent weeks, Teddy and Harry have made some intriguing comments about their past, and it could be that Nicola is key to unlocking what they're running from.
Back in August, Harry told his dad that "you know who" has been seen around their old place, trying to find out where the family had moved to.

Teddy was confident that he had everything under control, but is "you know who" Nicola, and what does she want from her ex?
Doddington has already started filming for the soap. In a statement, she said of her exciting new role: "I still can’t believe I’ve joined EastEnders – I keep pinching myself!
"I grew up watching the show, so the first time I filmed in The Vic, I was like a kid at Christmas to be in such an iconic place with such a brilliant cast and crew. Nicola is a complex woman who comes in like the Tasmanian Devil!

"She’s strong and completely unapologetic about who she is. I’ve been so lucky to have my Mitchell boys, Roland, Elijah and Lewis, as they’ve taken me under their wing, and we feel like a family already. I’m loving every second so far."
Executive producer Chris Clenshaw added: "Like all the great Mitchell women, Nicola is feisty, strong and loves her family. She and Teddy share a very complicated history, which will be fun to explore, as will her relationships with her two sons.
"We’re delighted to welcome the fantastic Laura Doddington to EastEnders to bring Nicola to life."
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
