Jack Branning's (Scott Maslen) actions finally caught up to him in tonight's (July 16) EastEnders as the police turned up to arrest him.
Jack has been taking things into his own hands lately, having subjected drug dealer Fraser to a brutal attack back in June after his niece Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) confessed that Fraser had raped her while she was on the run with his gang.
After Jack's police friend Muski dropped by to warn Jack that his name had come up in an investigation, Jack tried to ask his other half Denise Fox (Diane Parish) to give an alibi to the police.
Although Denise eventually agreed to help despite her reservations, she was left even more frustrated when Jack refused to tell her, and Tiffany was left feeling guilty after Denise ended things between her and Jack as a result.
After sharing a heart-to-heart with Jack, a conflicted Tiffany offered to tell the police what had happened to her but Jack insisted that she didn't have to.
Knowing the police were on their way, Jack considered going into hiding on the suggestion of his brother Max, but the episode ended with Tiffany watching on as Jack was taken away by the police.
Will she follow through with her offer to Jack and tell the police what Fraser did?
EastEnders actor Scott Maslen has previously opened up about his efforts in the fight against knife crime after the soap tackled the issue of gangs in some hard-hitting storylines.
"There were not many prospects and I see that being a mirror to what is happening now. You get such a barrier between the haves and the have-nots, which ain't getting smaller," he said.
"The majority of politicians don’t seem to see this massive gap. I am a parent of an 18-year-old son. I care about the kids, but they need discipline."
EastEnders continues Thursday night (July 18) at 7:30pm on BBC One.
