EastEnders spoilers follow.
Janine Butcher has sunk even lower by tricking Linda Carter in EastEnders.
This week's awkwardness with Janine had Mick scrambling to get in touch with Linda with hopes of planning a Broadway-themed New Year's Eve party for her.
"She's the guest of honour," Mick assured Nancy.
Janine wasn't giving up on winning Mick's love, especially after Billy Mitchell happened to mention Linda's history with alcoholism.
Once Mick ordered Janine to leave the pub for good, she decided she was going to take drastic action to make sure Linda wouldn't be coming home.
Linda grabbed Mick's phone and texted Linda not to come to the NYE party, then deleted any evidence before anyone else noticed.
The next time viewers saw Janine, she had turned up at Linda's mum's pub. Linda felt she recognised Janine, but the liar used her Judith alter-ego to claim she was a rep from the hospitality industry.
"I'm sure our paths have crossed," Janine claimed.
Janine then earned Linda's trust by stopping a thief stealing purses in the pub as she pretended to be a detective.
"It's amazing what some people will believe," Janine quipped to an unsuspecting Linda.
The two women then had a genuine conversation where Janine opened up about her strained relationship with daughter Scarlett, however Janine showed her true colours as she eventually tempted Linda into drinking again.
While Linda was confiding in Janine about her marital troubles with Mick, she unknowingly gave her rival more ammunition by revealing Mick isn't the father of baby Annie.
"He said he could cope, he said it'd be fine," Linda wistfully recalled. "I told him it weren't going to be that easy, but he was adamant. That weren't the only issue, there were others.
"Every problem we've had over the past few years has just pushed us further apart."
Linda even admitted that she no longer believed her and Mick "would ever be the same again" following the text disinviting her from the New Year's Eve party.
Janine took advantage of Linda's vulnerability by criticising Mick for not telling her how he felt face-to-face – knowing that she'd been the one interfering in his New Year plans.
"Time to move on," Linda finally confessed.
Janine sunk even lower while leaving the pub by making sure to take a snapshot of Linda drinking alcohol. Has she poisoned the Carters against one another for good this time?
