EastEnders legend 'joining rival BBC show'
A popular Eastenders star is popping up elsewhere on the BBC. Lindsey Coulson, who is best known for playing Carol Jackson in EastEnders, has joined the cast of Waterloo Road.
Coulson, famed for her role as Carol Jackson in the BBC soap, is set to join Waterloo Road for its upcoming series. This has sparked speculation about a potential return to EastEnders for the soap's 40th anniversary.
She has started filming for the school-based drama and will be stepping into the shoes of the new headteacher, reports The Sun. It follows Jason Manford's departure from the role of Mr Savage after just one series.

An insider revealed: "Lindsey's thrilled to be joining the show. She's playing the new head teacher and it's a great role for her. The show is really going from strength to strength. She's a real powerhouse actress and is having a great time."
Fans are hopeful that this news might hint at Lindsey's return to EastEnders ahead of its 40th anniversary.
Her character Carol was last seen in October 2015, riding off on Jim Branning's old motorbike for a fresh start away from Walford. The BBC soap will mark its 40th anniversary in February, with producers promising a slew of high-profile comebacks.
Tracy-Ann Oberman and Laurie Brett have already reprised their roles as Chrissie Watts and Jane Beale for brief appearances. Meanwhile, Patsy Palmer, Michael French, and Louisa Lytton are all slated to return as Bianca Jackson, David Wicks, and Ruby Allen respectively.
