EastEnders' Mila Marwa got support from her on/off love interest Iqra Ahmed on Friday (May 28) when the latter offered some comfort to her as her sister, Kioni, remained in danger.

As viewers will know, Mila was left worried after Kioni left the Square with their mum during Thursday's (May 27) episode. Mila confided in Kathy Beale, who took her in, that she was worried her mum was taking Kioni on a trip to undergo FGM, just like she did several years ago.

Tonight, fans saw Iqra question if Mila actually cared about her after she shut her out while dealing with her family problems.

Kioni, seemingly still unaware what her mum has planned, told her sister that her and her mum's trip had been moved forward two days, which understandably left Mila distraught as she broke down in tears on the phone. She then turned to Kathy for advice, who said they needed to go straight to the police.

"My mum might go to prison, she's not a bad person," Mila told Kathy, telling her to give her a chance to sort it herself first. Mila said she wanted to hatch a plan to stop Kioni going away, though Kathy made it clear that she only had 24 hours to make it work or she'd be going to the police – "with or without" Mila's approval.

Mila then turned to Iqra for help, though the latter wasn't exactly receptive to her plea. "You've been flaky with me all week," Iqra told her, scathingly hitting back, "I'm done! I deserve better than this!"

However, things took a turn when the latter finally came clean to Iqra and revealed all about what she'd been dealing with. "You deserve to know the truth about me," she said.

Mila explained to a horrified Iqra what she'd been through and how her mum told her they were going to a party, but instead they went to a back room where she underwent FGM. "[Mum] said don't cry, it's all over. But it wasn't over," she recalled. "It hurts. I get infections. I have nightmares."

"You could have told me. I would have understood," Iqra replied, to which Mila said she "had to stop them" from doing the same to her sister.

After hearing her story and realising just how much she had on her shoulders, Iqra promised to do all she could to help Mila and prevent Kioni from having to go through the same thing. But will they really be able to help before Kathy goes to the police?
