EastEnders offers first look at Kat's big Christmas decision

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders is certainly planning ahead, giving fans more insights into the soap's next Christmas Day wedding.

It may only be February, but the BBC One series already has a ceremony lined up for Kat Slater and Phil Mitchell this next festive season.

The couple haven't had much luck so far when it comes to walking down the aisle. New scenes, however, seem to confirm they may actually go ahead with it this time around, provided they can both wait ten months to say "I do".

In a preview of a new episode, Jessie Wallace's character Kat is at The Vic, where she's joined by Steve McFadden's Phil.

"Do you mind putting off the wedding until Christmas?" Kat asks Phil in the sneak peak.

If you think Phil would be bothered by yet another delay, you'll have to think again. As he makes very clear in the clip, he doesn't care much about when the wedding will take place, as long as it'll happen at some point.

"You're so romantic," Kat makes fun of his matter-of-fact approach as Stacey and Kathy watch on.

Kat and Phil's decision could give their exes Alfie Moon and Sharon Watts plenty of time to come up with a plan to interfere with the happy couple should they desire. Though Sharon looks to be keeping herself busy between now and then reigniting her romance with Keanu.

And given wedding bells sometimes sound ominous on Albert Square – particularly during the holidays, just ask poor Mick Carter – this storyline is guaranteed to come with a huge helping of drama.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
