EastEnders' Sharon Mitchellis taking centre stage in one of the show's biggest stories at the moment, having just found out that she's pregnant.
Sharon, played by Letitia Dean, made the shock discovery in last night's episode – weeks after she briefly reignited her affair with Keanu Taylor.
Sharon's baby bombshell came just as Keanu was reuniting with her step-daughter Louise, who is also pregnant, sparking a brand new chapter in the already-complex story.
Over the next few episodes, viewers will see Sharon struggle to come to terms with her pregnancy, which has been even more unexpected given her age and history of fertility issues.
Sharon was born in 1969, making her 49 years old. She will be turning 50 on October 22 of this year.
Statistics state that only 4% of women fall pregnant over the age of 45, and less than one percent at 49. This means that Sharon's pregnancy is certainly possible – even if a bit improbable.
That's because Sharon also has a history of fertility problems, recently opening up to Louise about being told she was infertile prior to having Dennis.
Back in the '90s, Sharon had a termination after falling pregnant with her husband Grant's baby, but was left with an infection afterwards.
Despite believing she wouldn't be able to have children of her own, Sharon went on to get pregnant with Dennis Rickman's baby (aka Dennis Jnr), prior to his death in 2005.
Following the discovery that she's pregnant again, Sharon will attempt to hide the news from her husband Phil tonight, but as always, it doesn't stay a secret for long.
By the time next week arrives, all the Mitchells know about Sharon's pregnancy, with the news soon getting back to Keanu – who immediately starts to question if the baby is his.
Although Sharon insists to Keanu that the baby is Phil's, it remains to be seen whether that really is the case or not...
EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
