EastEnders: Phil Mitchell to reveal that he killed Jay's dad

Phil Mitchell has left everybody concerned in EastEnders this week, with some fans worried that the much-loved character could be dying after he gave away his businesses to his son, Ben, and Jay.

Ben was left devastated to learn that Jay’s generous gift of the car lot was worth a lot more than his own, the Arches, questioning why Phil would leave the greater business to Jay, who isn’t his biological son, however, Phil is set to explain all in an emotional two-hander episode.

In a shocking twist of events, Phil will tell Jay that he was responsible for Jase Dyer’s 2008 death, with Jay’s dad being brutally murdered whilst Billy Mitchell hid in the shower.

The Mitchell family immediately took Jay in as one of their own, however, it looks like Phil did this out of a guilty conscience rather than kindness.

Although the murder happened nine years ago, viewers had no idea that Phil was involved in any way and the role that he played in Jase’s death is still being kept a secret.

Understandably, Jay does not take the revelation well and he and Ben turn their backs on Phil and even drop the Mitchell surname.

Elsewhere, Sharon is set to be left devastated by Phil’s confession, with the shock news throwing their entire marriage into doubt.

In yesterday’s episode, Phil admitted to Ben that he gave Jay the business because he “owed it” to him, however, we have a feeling that no character is prepared for exactly what he meant by that remark.
