EastEnders will reveal Jane Beale's fate tonight (October 20) as she prepares to leave Walford without her husband Ian.
Sad scenes in Thursday's episode saw Jane (Laurie Brett) tell a stunned Ian that their marriage was over – a demand that has been made by a manipulative Max Branning.
Max has been talked into forcing Jane to leave Walford on her own by ruthless villain James Willmott-Brown – who is insisting that Ian needs to stick around as he'll eventually be useful in their revenge plot.
Tonight's scenes will see Ian (Adam Woodyatt) reel from Jane's shock news as he struggles to come to terms with the fact she wants to leave him for good.
Of course, Ian is still in the dark over Max's part in Jane's devastating decision – and that she's only going because she fears their son Bobby is in danger if she doesn't.
As Jane says her final goodbyes, fans will have to tune in to see whether there could be a final twist in store before she leaves. But is this the end for Jane? Or will Ian realise what's going on before it's too late?
EastEnders airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
