Yahoo News EastEnders romance hopes for Jack as he pursues Mel
EastEnders' Jack Branning will continue to pursue a romance with Mel Owen next week – much to Hunter's fury.
Jack (Scott Maslen) has made no secret of the fact that he fancies Mel, but she's so far managed to resist his charms.
With Mel proving to be a bigger challenge than he thought, Jack will up his game next week – by showing off a sporty new car that he's hired.
Determined to impress Mel, Jack even makes plans to take her on a swanky date to Paris – and this time, she's certainly tempted.
As the pair grow closer, Jack agrees to let Mel take him for a spin, but ends up making a fool of himself in the process when the car won't start.
Unfortunately for Jack, he has bigger problems than that on his hands as a troubled Hunter is still not happy about his mum's budding new friendship.
Determined to put a stop to his mum's romance before it gets started, Hunter lets Mel know that he is aware of Jack's Paris plans and doesn't approve.
Hunter continues to make digs about Jack for Mel's benefit, prompting her to reassure him that she is not looking for a relationship.
However, with Jack still pursuing Mel, Hunter decides to manipulate the situation in a bid to keep them apart. But will it work?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, March 27 and Friday, March 30 on BBC One.
