EastEnders' Ruby Allen to suffer another miscarriage in endometriosis story

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Ruby Allen will suffer another miscarriage next week, as her endometriosis story continues.

Ruby (Louisa Lytton) was left devastated after she lost her baby earlier in the year, and went on to discover that she had endometriosis – which could affect her fertility.

Further investigations have confirmed that Ruby is severely impacted by the disease and will get devastating news after discovering she's pregnant again next week.

Amid all of this, Ruby is still trying to connect with her stepdaughter Lily and presents the children with a 'worry box', per Isaac's idea.

Ruby explains that what they write and put inside stays secret, but Lily is sceptical – and rightly so.

That's because an intrigued Ruby can't help but peek at Lily's worry, leaving the schoolgirl furious.

Keen to pacify the tension between the pair, Jean advises Ruby to be warmer with Lily, but the conversation is interrupted when Ruby suddenly doubles over in pain.

After visiting the GP, Ruby leaves her appointment in tears, telling Jean she's pregnant but is highly likely to miscarry. Wanting to support her, Jean encourages Ruby to write her own worry for the box.

Ruby tells Martin the news from the doctor and insists she'll be fine alone. At a loss as to what to do, Martin confides in Zack, explaining he feels helpless and wants to keep trying for a baby no matter what.

Despite her difficult week, Ruby begins to bond with Lily after picking her up from school.

Having read Ruby's worry note, Lily assures her that she'll be a great mum one day but Ruby gets a searing stomach cramp – her miscarriage has started. Afterwards, she spends the evening with Lily, taking comfort in finding her feet as a stepmum.

Seeing the future in a different light, Ruby shocks Martin by insisting she doesn't want to look at other options to conceive – she just wants to focus on the family they have.

She later visits their monument and adds a new stone in memory of the baby she's lost. Jean watches on, but will she be able to support her?
