Sam Mitchell has been given a frightening warning over betraying Phil in EastEnders.

Earlier this week, Sam made a deal with the devil as she was forced into an arrangement to sell drugs through the club as means to take control of the Mitchell family empire.

Phil has no idea about his sister's betrayal, but he has threatened crime boss Jonah to stay away from his family or face the consequences.

This secret deal with Jonah quickly fell apart in Wednesday's (July 13) episode, as Sam's attempt to get Jonah's drug dealer into the nightclub immediately aroused suspicion from barman Zack.

Zack and Chelsea called the police when they spotted dealer, leading to him very publicly being arrested in front of everyone.

Jonah was not at all pleased that this partnership with Sam was already in shambles, leaving her to face the music in a tense cliffhanger.

A tense showdown between Sam and Jonah saw the crime boss threaten to do more physical damage to her, after she was shot in the leg in the botched robbery.

"If there are any more mistakes, I'll not only make sure Phil knows his own sister is a snake, but I'll mess your other leg up, which would be a shame," Jonah warned.

Jonah then menacingly grabbed Sam by the face and stroked her hair, before shouting at her: "Remember who's side you're on!"

Will Sam be taken down because of her shady business dealings?

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
