EastEnders shocker as Woody gets passionate with Tina

EastEnders just aired an unexpected romance twist in tonight's episode (April 27) as newcomer Woody got passionate with Tina Carter.

We knew it was only a matter of time before Woody found romance in Walford, but with it seeming like Whitney Carter was the one in his sights, fans may not have seen this latest twist with Tina coming.

Tina identifies as lesbian and previously had relationships with both Sonia Fowler and Tosh Mackintosh, but found herself drawn to Woody as she continued to grieve for her mum Sylvie.

Woody (Lee Ryan) hasn't exactly made himself popular at the Queen Vic since he was sent to manage the place in the absence of Linda and Mick Carter. But he found an ally in Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) during Thursday's visit to Walford – leading to a very unexpected turn of events.

After a tricky few days, Woody started to let his bravado slip when he reached out to a grief-stricken Tina, who he had noticed struggling in the wake of Sylvie's tragic death.

Realising how hard Tina was finding life without Sylvie, Woody offered her a much-needed shoulder to cry on – even opening up about his own experience of losing a parent.

As Woody confided in Tina about his dad's death when he was younger, sparks started to fly between the pair as he promised her that she wasn't alone.

Before long, Tina and Woody were getting passionate on the sofa, but is this the start of a new romance? Or are they going to regret it in the morning?

EastEnders continues on Friday, April 28 at 8pm on BBC One.
