Janine announces her exit

Knowing that Mick is avoiding her in the bedroom, Janine confides in Billy about the situation and confesses that they’ve yet to be intimate. But when the Queen Vic landlord is confronted by Janine about the situation, he swerves the topic.

When a later attempt to seduce Mick then falls flat, Janine makes a declaration: if the judge gives her custody of Scarlett at the week’s end, she’ll be moving to Australia.

Picking up on the frosty atmosphere, Frankie suggests that Mick be more romantic. But plans for a date at Walford East go awry, first when Janine’s clothes get shrunk in the wash and then when Mick makes an alarming admission.

Thursday’s episode will then be focused on the custody hearing, with Eve seen reading out a touching statement on Kat’s behalf. But what decision will be made about Scarlett's future?

Knife drama ruins Tommy’s chances?

A local football team wants to meet with Tommy, but there are worries about the club finding out about the recent knife incident and Tommy’s current suspension from school.

An added problem then proves to be Sam who, after overhearing Martin discussing the knife drama with Nancy and Zack, makes a scene in front of the coach Colin, who’s sitting close by in the pub.

Kat is then left gutted when the coach tell her that he can’t have Tommy on the team. Thinking it’s Sam who’s to blame, Kat confronts her – but then ends up venting spleen at Martin, Zack and Nancy for blabbing in a public space.

Lily discovers all about Jean

Following Jean’s traumatic drama in Southend, Stacey is worried about how to tell Lily and asks for Martin’s help in finding the right words.

But after an unsettling visit to the hospital, Stacey tells Martin that she’s changed her mind: Lily mustn’t find out and should instead be protected. Martin, though, disagrees and the two of them argue heatedly. The trouble is, Lily overhears their words.

The following day, Shirley clocks Lily trying to steal a drink from the Vic and, feeling sorry for her, gives her a chance to talk about her nan. Lily then swears Shirl to secrecy before questioning her about what happened to Jean.

Bernie is keeping secrets

Dotty is out of her comfort zone when Bernie decides to take her to chess club. However, Dotty proves to be better at the game than she’d imagined and, after winning some money, takes Bernie to the Vic to celebrate.

But, later on, Dotty spots a clandestine conversation between Bernie and fellow chess player Gareth. And as she quizzes her friend about the conflab, Bernie acts evasive. But what will Dotty’s reaction be when Bernie finally comes clean?

Frankie feels inferior
