EastEnders' spoilers: New arrivals and exposed secrets - the week ahead in Walford

Well, it’s safe to say that Danny Dyer’s grand return to EastEnders last week was suitably explosive, with his Albert Square counterpart, Mick Carter, going mad when he found Whitney and Woody naked in his and Linda’s bed, kicking Woody out and later confronting Whitney about her shoplifting.

And despite all of the drama, Mick still hasn’t learned about his mum, Shirley, and wife, Linda, secretly selling the freehold on the Queen Vic, leaving us pretty certain that when he does discover it in this week’s episodes he is going to be far from impressed…

Introducing: Ted and Joyce!

Here’s what to expect in Walford this week:

As already mentioned, the big one this week is Mick’s discovery that the freehold has been sold from his pub, and whilst Shirley tries to find a way to break it to him gently he discovers the truth after talking to Fi and consequently hits the roof. Mick tries everything in his power to get out of the contract and when he learns about Max’s involvement in the deal he loses it. Concerned, Whitney and Johnny try to think of ways to cheer Mick up and are left shocked when he eventually breaks down.

Suffice to say, Mick is NOT a happy bunny.

Meanwhile, Dot is determined to fix things between Jack and Charlie, arranging a meeting at her house so that the two men can sort out their differences. Things come to a head and Jack eventually takes drastic action, which will no doubt have seriously big repercussions…

Elsewhere, Kim tells Denise about Kush’s ill-fated date at The Albert last week but Denise is too distracted by her growing poverty to care, eventually, she faces the consequences of her exhaustion during her exams. Could all of that work have been for nothing?

Steven’s paranoia grows as Lauren and Josh grow closer.

Over at the Beales’, Steven continues to let his paranoia get the better of him and leaves Lauren feeling suffocated. When Lauren is asked by Josh to stay late at work she cancels plans with her boyfriend and is left feeling flustered when she walks in on her boss getting changed. Adding fuel to the fire, Abi casts doubt in Steven’s mind about why Lauren is staying at work so late, which sees Steven obsession with Lauren reach new levels.

What surprise is in store for Honey and Billy?

Other things to look out for include Honey and Billy’s surprise when they host their housewarming at the flat above the funeral parlour and Michelle’s struggle to impress her new boss.

Finally, there are some new faces in the square! Ted and Joyce make their much-anticipated Walford debut and things get off to a suitably dramatic start as Joyce snaps at Ted after realising that he has brought a box containing dark secrets of their past with them… What could possibly be inside it?
