Mick Carter’s nan popped up in Albert Square again at the end of Tuesday night’s episode after doing a runner from her care home.

The family are looking after her while they try to find another place for her to stay but Sylvie, who has Alzheimer’s disease, is proving tricky to care for.

She was warned at the care home after coming on to some of the male residents and even though she is back at the Queen Vic she cannot identify her family members.

In Friday night’s episode, Sylvie’s daughter Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) reveals her mum has locked herself in the bathroom and is “threatening to hurt herself”.

Mick - who is played by Danny Dyer - says: “Mother, I’ve been up with her all night and you can’t take her to the khazi?”

His wife Linda replies: “Mick, everyone is doing the best they can.”

But the ever alert Aunt Babe (Annette Badland) says: “It’s gone quiet…”

The family begin rushing around trying to find her but to no avail in the short 30-second clip.
