EastEnders actress Katie Jarvis is recovering after allegedly being glassed by a ‘drunken Irish man’ on a night out in London.

Jarvis, who plays Hayley Slater on the BBC soap, was treated by medical staff after the attack that took place last Friday night.

The actress posted a tweet thanking the police and ambulance service for their help, but later deleted it.

The tweet read: “Big thank you to the Met police tonight and ambulance service for looking after me after I was glassed by a drunken Irish man for f*** all.”

She later posted a new tweet, thanking her followers for asking about her wellbeing and insisting that she is fine.

Thanks lovely lot I’m good as gold. To put people’s minds, and questions to rest. I am absolutely fine. Thank you so much for all your concern and checking in on me, But I’m a soldier and been through a hell of a lot worse. Now you can start focusing your concerns on some real news. Love you all.”

Jarvis joined EastEnders in February 2018, playing Hayley, the cousin of Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).

She was embroiled in a major storyline over Christmas when it was revealed that she’d had an affair with Kat’s husband Alfie (Shane Richie). Hayley then fell pregnant and gave birth to her daughter Cherry.

Jarvis has been absent from the soap for the past few weeks with her character currently receiving mental heath treatment.

Hayley was supposed to finish her treatment last month, but she instead ran away, leaving her baby with the Slaters.
