EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy pays birthday tribute to fiancé

EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has paid tribute to her fiancé on his birthday, with the actress sharing just how much her partner means to her.

Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler on the soap, got together with cameraman Marc Humphreys in 2014 and the couple got engaged a year later, as they were celebrating their one-year anniversary together.

The actress has now shared a post on Instagram featuring a snap of her fiancé sitting in front of a birthday cake while she kisses his cheek, alongside three photos of them laughing, smiling and dancing together.

"Happy 38th birthday @camera_marc. I'm the luckiest woman. Life deals you cards. It took me a long time to find you. Without you I'm not sure where I'd be," she wrote.

"Thank you for your patience, your love and your ability to know what I need. Each year gets better and better. Love you."

Humphreys has worked on the EastEnders set for some time, and Cassidy's co-star Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, revealed that he is actually spending his birthday at work, as she commented, "Seeing as I am in the Vic with @camera_marc, am trying to work out when is best moment to sing happy birthday!! He hasn't said a word…"

Jay Brown actor Jamie Borthwick also shared some birthday love, writing, "Happy birthday rooney! Hope you've not had the afternoon off! You wouldn't expect Richard Branson to have the afternoon off just cos it's his birthday!"

Cassidy cheekily confirmed that her partner was busy working all day, replying, "No afternoon off - Vic all day mate."

Cassidy also spoke to OK! magazine this week about her wedding plans, revealing that she has been "very indecisive" when it comes to choosing the details of the couple's big day.

"At some point, I do think we'll get our close family together at a lovely place in London, go to a restaurant and have a big party afterwards," she said.

"Ten years would be a brilliant time to do it. Either ten years together or ten years engaged."

She also spoke about how important it is to "make time for romance", explaining, "If it slips and we think we haven't done anything nice for a month, we do bring it up. He's better than me actually. He'll bring it up more."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
