Yahoo News EastEnders star Patsy Palmer opens up about Bianca Jackson's return to the soap
EastEnders will soon be hearing one of its loudest voices again, as Bianca Jackson returns to Albert Square after five years away.
Bianca is back in Walford for her adopted daughter Whitney's (Shona McGarty) wedding and she'll quickly get pulled back into the Walford drama as she deals with all of the trauma her daughter Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) has faced since moving away from Milton Keynes last year too.
The soap has already teased Bianca's return in a new trailer and now actress Patsy Palmer has opened up about her return to the show too, saying that being back on the Square is "like going home".
"It's been so much fun and it's like going home," Patsy told The Sun's Fabulous Magazine. "I know literally everyone from when I walk in the door at reception."
But as much as the actress has had, she also ruled out a return to the soap full-time, explaining that returning for three weeks was difficult enough.
"Even after just three weeks at work, I'm exhausted and I'm looking at them all and thinking: 'God, this is hard'," she continued.
"Me and Danny Dyer were talking about it. He was new when I was there last time and back then he was full of energy and now he's like… I mean, he's there six days a week, 13 hours a day banging out one scene after another.
"There's hardly any rehearsal and they're all trying to organise their lives and be with their families and have relationships outside of work. It's difficult.
"No wonder I needed to do something else! But it's great fun and I told them that they don't realise how close they all are," she added.
"I'll go back to LA and I won't keep in contact with most of them, but when I come back, I'll slot back into those friendships where I can talk about anything and everything."
EastEnders continues on Monday (August 26) at 8pm on BBC One in the build-up to the explosive wedding week.
