EastEnders story editor promises "epic" Christmas episodes after NTA win
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders' Christmas episodes are set to be "epic", according to story editor Lawrie Jordan.
The BBC soap is in the middle of a big flashforward storyline, with six of Walford's women previously seen in a clip set at Christmas time this year standing over the corpse of an unidentified man.
Who the victim will be is yet to be revealed, though after the show walked home with three big prizes at last night's (September 5) NTAs, Jordan teased a bit about what fans can expect from episodes later this year.
Three gongs!! So thrilled for our amazingly dedicated and creative team. People are working day and night to bring you the best version of this show possible. Thanks to everyone who voted for us…and keep watching….Christmas 2023 is going to be epic! #EastEnders #NTA2023 https://t.co/W86gHw1Wpc

In a neat nod to the storyline, the six stars at the centre of the storyline – Letitia Dean, Diane Parish, Gillian Taylforth, Lacey Turner, Balvinder Sopal and Kellie Bright – recreated the colours worn in the storyline's promo shoot on the NTAs red carpet too.

Some of the show's male cast members also wore cufflinks on the red carpet in reference to the mystery victim.
The latest twist in the storyline was teased in a trailer this week, which links events to Stacey Slater's shock discovery that Theo Hawthorne has been stalking her.
The clip shows Stacey in a red dress looking at a cracked mirror anxiously, accompanied by the subtitle: “In a flash, everything changes.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
