EastEnders' Tiffany and Keegan share a romantic kiss

EastEnders has teased that romance is blossoming between teens Tiffany Butcher and Keegan Baker in the wake of a turbulent few months.

Tiffany (Maisie Smith) is only just finding her feet once again after being led into a life of drugs and abuse on the run through her destructive connection with the Square's drug dealer Evie Steele (Sophia Capasso).

Keegan (Zack Morris) has also dealt with a reliance on drugs while coping with the death of his friend Shakil, and most recently has been supporting half-sister Bailey (Kara-Leah Fernandes) following her mum Dinah's suicide.

In Tuesday's episode (May 21), Tiffany tagged along to support Keegan while he took Bailey out to McKlunky's. During their meal, Bailey admitted that she's struggling with the idea that her mum is gone forever.

"I keep forgetting she's not here," Bailey admitted to them. "Like, something will happen and I've got to tell mum. Then I remember, she's not here."

Keegan sympathised by sharing his own experience from when best friend Shakil was killed last year.

"I promised myself that everyday I'd do something that would make Shaki laugh, or jealous or something," Keegan explained. "Just so I know that he's looking down from wherever he is. And that way I know that he's still here."

As Keegan and Bailey accompanied Bailey to her old flat so she could look for a memento, the mood overtook the teens as they leaned in for a kiss.

This coupling definitely has fan support, especially since both characters have recently been through a rough time:

Their storyline closed on a sombre note as Keegan and Tiffany helped Bailey discover some cards that Dinah had left behind for her daughter to open on birthdays and other milestone events in her life.

Keegan and Tiffany gave Bailey a hug as they all contemplated the gravity of Dinah's final gift to her daughter.

EastEnders continues on Thursday (May 23) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
