EastEnders viewers praise tonight's emotional scenes

Tonight's EastEnders double bill delivered two dramatic episodes for Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) and mum Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) as the pair's eventful kidnap plot came to an end.

The sad storyline followed Lisa's drastic decision to kidnap her teenage daughter Louise, who's not well enough to be out of hospital following her school prom accident, while Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) desperately tried to track down the pair before it's too late.

After Thursday's first episode concluded with Louise trying to help her mum as she suffered a breakdown, the soap's second episode saw Phil find Louise and Lisa in a hotel room, before Louise passed out from her injuries, causing Phil to rage at his former partner.

The episode ended with paramedics taking everyone to be looked over as Sharon laid some home truths on Phil and Louise deciding she wanted to be with her mum as a result of Phil's outburst.

But, while it may be the last we're going to see of Lisa Fowler, with the BBC confirming that tonight's episode was Lucy Benjamin's last, in all, the soap delivered an intense and emotionally-driven hour of television tonight.

And there was no denying that both Tilly Keeper and Lucy Benjamin were absolutely brilliant with their performances tonight, with many viewers praising both of them for their work:
