If you've ever had some sort of fever dream where Whitney Dean, Johnny Carter and Lauren Branning from EastEnders defend Walford Les Misérables-style, watching Children in Need probably felt like deja vu.

No, you're not hallucinating. Those really were all of your favourite characters from Albert Square turning the East End into the West End in their annual Children in Need musical medley for Friday night's telethon.

This year's edition was full of pomp and circumstance, as Shona McGarty and Lee Ryan led their co-stars in full-throated renditions of Les Misérables classics 'One Day More' and 'On My Own'.

In particular, Shona McGarty's turn as Éponine seemed to genuinely hit home because it reminded her of the kids whose lives will be changed by the money raised during the BBC telethon.
