Though fresh fruit and vegetables seem to be returning to supermarket aisles after feeling in scarce supply across the country, it hasn’t stopped more people than ever turn to growing their own.

We might think of a vegetable patch as a sprawling piece of land, stretched out across an allotment or country house, but in fact, you only need a small amount of space to grow a selection of harvestable crops.

And, even though we can now get hold of carrots and blueberries again, having your very own stock just outside your back door saves you both money and a trip outside (which means you can save your daily outing for a long, leisurely park walk).

However, if you’ve never tried your hand at fruit and veg growing before, the task of doing so can feel a little daunting, which is why we’re a big fan of starter kits.

These straight-forward kits provide you with everything you need to grow your own fruit and veg (except water), so that you can taste the fruits of your labour as quickly as possible.

Oh, and we haven’t forgotten about those city-dwellers who don’t have any outdoor space to speak of at the moment.

We’ve also found this Seed Pantry Grow Pod Two With Grow Pack so that you can nurture seedlings from inside the comfort of your own living room.
