Easy way to clean soap stains and limescale from your shower screen using item in your kitchen
Cleaning shower screens can sometimes be tricky due to a build-up of soap scum and hard water stains - but there is a simple way to get the job done.
Hard water stains, also known as limescale, are the minerals from water that have built up over time to form a cloudy residue on shower screens that will stubbornly stick to the surface. But you don't have to spend lots of money on cleaning products to get rid of the stains. There's a cheaper and easier method.
Eric Thomas, a expert from CRD Design Build, says the best way to remove limescale is by using lemon juice. He added: "The citric acid in lemon juice is very good at dissolving minerals. You can squeeze several lemons to extract lemon juice or just buy a bottle of lemon juice at the grocery store."

Lemon juice is highly effective at naturally cleaning glass due to how acidic it is as it will naturally break down alkaline limescale and soap so it can easily be wiped away without scrubbing, reports the Express. It is also good to use lemon juice as it is a safe natural product without harsh chemicals that could scratch your shower glass.
So to clean your shower screen, you will need - lemon juice, an empty spray bottle, clean cloths, a soft sponge (optional) and baking soda (optional). All you need to do is put lemon juice in the spray bottle with some warm water, screw on the lid and give the bottle a shake to mix it together.
Spray the solution all over the shower glass screen and then leave it to sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the lemon juice to break down the mineral deposits. Once the time is up, wipe the lemon juice off the screen with a clean wet cloth, then polish it with a dry cloth.
If the stains are particularly stubborn then use a sponge to gently scrub at the limescale, and you can also mix lemon juice with baking soda to make a paste that can help quickly clean the glass. Eric said: "Baking soda works especially well to remove soap residue, but it is less effective, when used alone, to remove hard water stains."
On its own baking soda cannot dissolve limescale, but when mixed with lemon juice it will create a chemical reaction which will bubble and loosen the limescale, making it much easier to clean.
