EasyJet launches five new routes from Birmingham Airport with £32 'winter sun' flights

EasyJet has launched its first flights on five new routes taking off from Birmingham Airport. The first planes left Birmingham for Marrakesh on November 6 and four additional routes are launching this week.

Services to Morocco's 'city of luxury' are now operating twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the winter. Flights to the 'winter sun' destination cost from £31.99 return.

A new service to Reykjavik in Iceland started on Tuesday, November 12 and is now running on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the winter. A return from BHX to the Northern Lights hotspot costs from £50.29.

EasyJet also started flights to Hurghada, the airline's second Egyptian destination from Birmingham, on Wednesday, November 13. Another inaugural flight took off to Prague that afternoon. Both routes will run throughout the winter months on Wednesdays, with the addition of a second weekly flight to Prague on Sundays.

Hurghada's warm climate benefits from highs of around 30C in November and December and tickets are priced from £180.99 return. Flights from Brum to Prague are priced from £41.99 return.

On Friday, November 15, a new service will start to Krakow in Poland which will operate up to seven days a week, all year round. Seats start from £48.99 return.

Airline bosses say the introduction of these five new routes show the 'continuing strong demand from EasyJet customers in the Midlands'. Since the budget airline opened its new base at Birmingham Airport in March, it has added 22 new routes to its schedule, meaning 33 routes are now available from the city to destinations across Europe.
