Easyjet passenger rushed to hospital after incident on Scots flight

A flight landing at Edinburgh Airport was met by paramedics upon arrival after a passenger had a medical incident on board.

The incident happened on Monday, February 3 around 4.25pm when easyJet flight EZY811 arrived at Edinburgh Airport from London Gatwick.

Fire crews were the first to attend, before paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service arrived at the runway.

Scottish Ambulance Service bosses said they received a call at 4.25pm regarding an incident at the airport and later transported a patient to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

EasyJet managers said the "safety and wellbeing" of their customers is their highest priority.

A spokesperson for Edinburgh Airport said: "Members of our fire service were first responders to an incident before the arrival of paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 16:25 on Monday 3 February to attend an incident at Edinburgh Airport.

"One ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.”

An easyJet spokesperson said: "Flight EZY811 from London Gatwick to Edinburgh on February 3 was met by paramedics after arrival due to a customer onboard requiring medical attention. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”
