New eco-friendly homes are coming to town and demand is high
Cotswold Homes has officially broken ground at Hopton Rise, a new development on the edge of Malmesbury in Wiltshire. The project will deliver 23 homes, including nine affordable homes, managed by a local housing association.
Construction director Nathan Coltman and sales and marketing director Sarah Williams marked the occasion by symbolically helping to dig the first footings, signifying the start of construction.
The development will feature a selection of three- and four-bedroom homes, all constructed using natural stone. Cotswold Homes will equip every property with air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and electric vehicle chargers, reducing environmental impact while ensuring long-term energy efficiency for residents.

Sarah Williams commented: "We are delighted to begin construction at Hopton Rise, a sought-after location in Wiltshire. This milestone reflects extensive collaboration and community engagement to deliver a thoughtfully designed, sustainable development in this historic town. With sustainability at the heart of our plans, we're confident these homes will enhance the local environment and provide much-needed housing for many people."
During the planning process, Cotswold Homes received praise from local councillors for its "exemplary" engagement with Malmesbury Town Council, highlighting the positive and collaborative approach in shaping the project.
