EcoFest returns with fun-filled activities and entertainment in Accrington

EcoFest will be returning with free activities and entertainment.

The PROSPECTS Foundation, Hyndburn’s community-owned environmental charity, is excited to announce that EcoFest will be returning to Broadway in Accrington town centre on Saturday, June 8, from 10am-3pm. The free festival will be even bigger and better this year as PROSPECTS celebrates its 25-year anniversary of environmental action in Hyndburn.

As well as showcasing all things green and environmentally friendly, the family-friendly festival will be packed full of free activities and entertainment to appeal to all ages and interests.

These include a brass band, clog dancers, Indian dhol drummers, live musicians, free face painting and henna art, stilt walkers, storytime sessions with Burnley Youth Theatre, clothes swop stall, spoon carving demos, make your bird box workshops, plus all you need to know about getting involved with green spaces in the borough.

There will be free art workshops where you can craft a butterfly puppet, try out weaving using recycled materials, make a suncatcher from recycled plastic and make flowers from recycled cardboard.

The Lancashire Wildlife Trust, RSPB, Ribble Rivers Trust, Woody (Hyndburn) CIC, Soil Association, Cosy Homes in Lancashire, Community Rail and more will have stalls, and the PROSPECTS Foundation will have their own stalls with giveaways, demonstrations, and fun activities on how people can reduce their impact on the climate and environment.
