Ed Miliband in 'Blackbusters' gaffe

Ed Miliband has become the latest politician to come a cropper on Twitter after accidentally paying tribute to Bob Holness for his work on "Blackbusters".

The gaffe came as the Labour leader was attempting to mark the death of former 'Blockbusters' presenter Holness who died on Friday morning at the age of 83. It comes a day after fellow Labour MP Diane Abbott caused uproar over a Twitter post in which she said: "White people love playing divide and rule."

Miliband allegedly interrupted a Sky News interview with Diane Abbott on Thursday, calling to give her a 'severe dressing down' over the tweet she later apologised for. Though unintentional, Miliband's post is ironic given the furore over Abbott's 'racist' message which led to widespread calls for her dismissal.

When asked on what he thought about Abbott's post on Thursday, David Cameron sarcastically said: "You know my rule about politicians and tweeting". Bob Holness presented Blockbusters on ITV from 1983 to 1994 after working as the initial announcer on 'The Generation Game'.
