Ed Miliband performs A-ha's pop hit Take on Me in extraordinary TV appearance

This is the extraordinary moment Ed Miliband recreated A-ha’s classic pop song Take On Me in a hilarious TV comedy skit.

The former Labour leader can be seen lip-syncing to the 80’s hit and taking on the role of each band member on Channel 4’s The Last Leg.

Mr Miliband then dressed up as Kanye West while a woman in a bikini gyrated next him throughout his version of West’s Bound 2 video.

But the scantly-clad woman’s swimwear appeared aptly to consist of two bacon rolls – which the awkward-looking politician will remember for one reason.

In probably the most famous picture ever taken of the politician, Mr Miliband can be seen eating a breakfast roll – wearing an indescribable facial expression.

When asked during the comedy show if he was hungover when the iconic snap was taken, he replied: "It seemed like a good idea at the time.

"I had a kind of moment when I wasn't doing much, we were on a visit somewhere and I thought, 'What a good idea to have a bacon sandwich.'"

He did also recreate the infamous sandwich incident, but this time wearing sunglasses and leather jacket while sitting on a motorbike.

During the Friday-night episode, Adam Hills took Miliband through a photoshoot with the goal of creating a new, sleeker version of the unflattering original.

Since the images of the mock glam shoot emerged online, it has been widely circulated on social media under the hashtag #Milibacon.

And this all comes just one week after Mr Miliband was hailed a “class act” after photobomb a group of girls on the Tube.
