Ed Sheeran announces huge 2018 stadium tour

After taking a year-long hiatus in 2016, Ed Sheeran came back with a bang earlier this year when he released two new singles, ‘Castle On The Hill’ and ‘Shape Of You’.

The star continued to dominate the UK charts with his third highly-anticipated album ‘÷’, which shot to the top of the charts when it was released in March and remains 2017’s biggest-selling album of the year so far after selling eight million copies across the globe.

Ed followed the success of his new music with an international arena tour, even headlining Glastonbury on Sunday night, much to the delight of his fans.

However, Ed doesn’t look set to take a break any time soon as our favourite flame-haired popstar has just announced that he will be going on a huge European stadium tour next year.

With two dates at London’s Wembley Stadium, tickets to Ed’s new tour will go on sale on Saturday 8th July at 10am.

Sharing a poster of 25 dates on his Instagram page, the singer later took to Twitter to reassure his fans that even more dates and locations will be added, sharing: “That’s not the end of the stadium tour, watch this space x”.

The current UK dates are as follows:

Thursday 24th May 2018 – Machester – Etihad Stadium
Friday 1st June 2018 – Glasgow – Hampden Park
Friday 8th June 2018 – Newcastle – St James’ Park
Friday 15th June 2018 – London – Wembley Stadium
Saturday 16th June 2018 – London – Wembley Stadium
Friday 22nd June 2018 – Cardiff – Principality Stadium

This tour will be the biggest of Ed’s career to date and comes after it was announced that the star will be honoured with an MBE for his services to music and charity.

In a bid to make sure that all desperately-sought after tickets go to his fans and not to ticket touts, Ed and his team have a strict reselling policy that means tickets will only be valid if they have been bought through an official site or resale partner.

Concertgoers will be asked to bring a valid form of ID, the credit card they bought the tickets with and the booking confirmation alongside their tickets to each show, ensuring that touts will not be able to snap up the tickets and sell them for an inflated price on sites such as eBay.

Tickets to Ed Sheeran’s 2018 stadium tour will go on sale on July 8.
