Ed Sheeran brought Glastonbury to a magical close on Sunday night (June 25) – six years after he first performed at the festival to "about 500 people".

Tonight, millions across the globe watched as Ed took to the Pyramid Stage alone and delivered an incredible 90-minute acoustic set with just a loop pedal to back up his vocals and chords.

Opening with 'Castle On The Hill', he told the crowd: "I have to admit I'm very nervous, but very excited."

Ed then performed 'Eraser' and said: "Thank you so much for staying on a Sunday night to watch me," adding that last time he played Glastonbury was to "about 500 people".

He asked his fans to hold up their phone lights while he played 'The A Team' – his breakthrough single from 2011 – and went on to mash up his 2014 song 'Take It Back' with Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' and Bill Wither's 'Ain't No Sunshine'.

"For those of you who haven't seen one of my shows before or haven't heard one of my songs, please pretend that you know them," he told the crowd.

"For those of you who have, please sing all of the words. The aim of tonight is to lose our voices. I'm going to lose mine as well."

Although Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp had probably already left Worthy Farm by that point of the weekend, Ed was still watched by a star-studded audience – including a cosy David and Victoria Beckham.
