Ed Sheeran confirms new collaborations album as he announces track with Chance The Rapper

Ed Sheeran has announced new mixtape album, The No.6 Collaborations Project.

Sheeran revealed on Thursday that he had been working on another album full of collaborations, which includes hit track I Don’t Care featuring Justin Bieber.

The Divide singer told fans that the next track on the album – titled Cross Me and featuring Chance The Rapper and PnB Rock – will be released this evening when the record pre-orders start ahead of the albums July release date.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Sheeran wrote: “Before I was signed in 2011, I made an EP called No.5 Collaborations Project. Since then, I’ve always wanted to do another, so I started No.6 on my laptop when I was on tour last year.

“I’m a huge fan of all the artists I’ve collaborated with and it’s been a lot of fun to make. No.6 Collaborations Project will be out everywhere on 12 July.”

Sheeran also shared a track list from the upcoming album, with the names of 13 other artists he’s worked with blotted out.

Sheeran teased a new collaborations record last summer, telling BBC News: “I'd like to bring out a project next year that isn't an album. Something that isn't pushed on radio.

“Something that's not what I usually do, that just clears the air a little bit.”

The upcoming release is a departure from Sheeran’s last three records, +, x and ÷, which have enjoyed major global success.

But collaborations have also proved a massive hit for Sheeran, with I Don’t Care becoming his sixth number one in the Official Charts last week.

Sheeran and Bieber’s track sees the pair candidly singing about struggling with anxiety as well as gushing over their partnersCherry Seaborn and Hailey Baldwin.

No.6 Collaborations Project will be released on July 12, available to pre-order from midnight.
