Ed Sheeran helps sick fan tick dream off bucket list

A teenager with a terminal brain tumour has ticked a dream off her bucket list by meeting pop superstar Ed Sheeran.

When 16-year-old Sian Reeds, from Portsmouth, received her diagnosis she wrote a list of things she wanted to do.

It included being a zookeeper for a day, skydiving, and seeing Ed Sheeran perform.

Sian finally went to see the Beautiful People singer for her 16th birthday and was invited backstage to meet him before his show in Leeds.

The star chatted with Sian and the pair took a selfie together.

Her mother, Helen, said that the experience was "amazing, she hasn't stopped talking about it".

She said her daughter had also won a gymnastics competition days after being diagnosed and raised more than £16,000 by doing a charity skydive.

"Despite missing most of Year 11, Sian also went on to achieve three level 5 GCSEs this year," said Helen.

The teenager's condition, known as diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas, was discovered at a routine appointment at the optician.

The tumour cannot be operated on because of its position.

Next up on the bucket list is a trip to Alton Towers theme park.

"If it wasn't for her positive attitude we would struggle definitely more," Sian's mother added.

"She is amazing and I am so proud of her."

Sian's family have set up a Facebook page called Sian's Smile to record her bucket list achievements
