Ed Sheeran Offended Adele At A Private Dinner After Mocking Her Flip-Phone

In case you had forgotten, at the end of last year Ed Sheeran announced that he will be taking a break from life and it was time for him to shy away from the public eye for a bit.

However, we’ve somehow managed to get this gem of a story out of him in his absence, with the star admitting that he accidentally managed to offend Adele during a private dinner.

Awkward.

Following the release of Adele’s huge comeback single ‘Hello’, the Internet made countless memes about the fact that the mum-of-one was still using a flip-phone in the music video, and when Ed mentioned that he’d bought an old Motorola flip she thought that he was making a dig at her.

As it happens, at the time Ed hadn’t even see the video in question.

The ginger-haired heartthrob explained: “I’m getting rid of my phone and all my numbers. I bought a Motorola flip phone. She wasn’t happy about that.

“We went out for dinner and I hadn’t seen the Hello video. I said, ‘I’m getting a flip phone’ and she said, 'is that some sort of f*cking joke?'”

The star added to The Sun newspaper: “I was like sat there being like, 'is it?’ Someone piped up and was like, 'he hasn’t seen the video’.”

Oops, here’s hoping that Adele saw the funny side eventually because, to be honest, who could ever stay mad at Ed?
