Ed Sheeran To Officiate Courteney Cox And Johnny McDaid’s Wedding

Remember in Friends when Joey Tribianni officiated Monica Geller and Chandler Bing’s wedding and it was all-round emotional stuff?

Well, in today’s example of life imitating art, it has been reported that the actress who played Monica, Courteney Cox, has been left inspired by those scenes as she apparently asked bezzie mate, Ed Sheeran, to perform the service when she ties the knot to Snow Patrol fiance, Johnny McDaid.

Who could say no to that request, hmm?

In case you didn’t know, Ed is the one who introduced the lovebirds to one another, and Courteney has made no secret of the fact that she wants to have her British pal play a big part in their special day.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “They both agree it would be tons of fun as well as extremely fitting if Ed’s the one to join them in holy matrimony.

"He had already agreed to perform a couple of ballads after they exchange vows, so it seemed logical to him that he should get them hitched too.”

Cor, before we know it Ed is also going to have signed up to being wedding caterer, photographer, and ‘eck, why not throw in Maid Of Honour too?

The source continued: “He’s bursting with pride to have played matchmaker to Johnny and Court and he’s told them he’s up for anything that will help make their special day truly memorable.”

Courteney had previously confirmed that Ed will be performing at her wedding, but then joked that she and Johnny were leaving the rest of the planning to her 11-year-old daughter, Coco.

The actress joked: “We are certainly grateful to Ed for introducing us, I can’t imagine him not playing something at the wedding - it’ll be a musical night.

"Johnny and I are still in the planning stage, although Coco wants to be a wedding planner and has taken over! We’re in no rush but we’d like to do it sometime soon, Coco can’t wait to be a bridesmaid.”
