Fresh from his Glastonbury headline set, Ed Sheeran recently announced he is to go on stadium tour of the UK in 2018, featuring two London dates.

The Galway Girl singer posted a bizarre snap of himself straddling a cake of his own face, with the caption: “Announcing UK and Europe stadium tour tomorrow. This was the only picture I could find at short notice x.”

Sheeran, who’s sold 26 million albums worldwide, will come to London on Friday June 15 and Saturday June 16, playing Wembley stadium. Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow, Saturday July 8. There are no presales. Tickets can be bought here.

So far, the full UK tour is set to be:

May 9: Belfast, Boucher Playing Fields

May 24: Manchester, Etihad Stadium

June 1: Glasgow, Hampden Park

June 8: Newcastle, St James’ Park June 15: London, Wembley Stadium

June 16: London, Wembley Statium

June 22: Cardiff, Principality Stadium

Tickets for all dates can be bought here from July 8 at 10am, or 9am for the Belfast date. It’s expected more dates will be announced in due course, with Shape of You singer tweeting: "That's not the end of the stadium tour, watch this space x".

Sheeran shared the current European run of shows on Instagram, which unsurprisingly includes two nights at Galway.

The Wembley shows mark Sheeran’s first return to the stadium since his 2015 shows, when he played three consecutive nights in front of crowds of 90,000 with just a guitar and loop pedal. The record breaking gigs – Sheeran is the only person to have ever played the stadium entirely solo – were filmed and released as a DVD, Jumpers for Goalposts.
