According to a report from U.K. publication The Sun, Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, are expecting their first child together toward the end of this summer. Reportedly, the couple kept the news hush-hush during quarantine for the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic (which is probably the easiest time to keep this kind of major news private, TBH).

Neither Sheeran nor Seaborn have confirmed the news themselves, so take with the requisite grain of salt, but Sheeran has said that he was taking a break from music and performing around Christmas 2019. On December 24th, 2019, the singer posted a message to his fans on Instagram, announcing his "breather."

"I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about," he wrote. Well, a new baby would definitely be something to write about. He hasn't posted to Instagram since.

Sheeran and Seaborn have been friends since they were children, and he announced in January 2018 on Instagram that he had proposed "just before new year."

After rumors started swirling that they were already secretly married, Sheeran alluded in July 2019 to the fact that they were, in fact, husband and wife in a song. On No. 6 Collaborations Project track “Remember The Name,” he sings, “Watch how lyrics in the songs might get twisted / My wife wears red, but looks better without lipstick.” After it was released, he confirmed to I Heart Radio, according to CNN.

If the reports are true, we're sending our congratulations and well-wishes to Ed and Cherry. Being pregnant is already stressful, but being pregnant during a pandemic is monumentally more so. Now if these two secret-keepers could let us in on the news when the baby is born, we're dying to see pics.
