Eddie Redmayne denies he ever dated Taylor Swift

She’s had many celebrity boyfriends in the past but Eddie Redmayne has denied he was ever one of Taylor Swift’s conquest.

The Theory Of Everything actor finally put the rumours to rest during an episode of Watch What Happens Live, years after the pair were first linked back in 2012.

“I absolutely can put the rumours to rest. I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift. Although I met Taylor Swift,” the Brit said.

According to Eddie, their meeting was strictly professional because Taylor was simply auditioning for a role in Les Misérables, hoping to bag the part of Eponine – a girl in love with Eddie’s character Marius, a role which eventually went to Samantha Barks.

“She auditioned for Les Misérables,” he recalled. “She was amazing in the audition. We got to sing together, which was a big moment for me, but no, we never went out.

And the actor, who is now married to Hannah Bagshawe and is a father to their daughter Iris, had nothing but praise for the Grammy winner: “She was extraordinary,” he complimented.

Eddie also brushed over the criticism his Les Mis co-star Anne Hathaway faced following her first Oscar win for the film.

“I honestly don’t know because I think she’s formidable and I think she was kind of extraordinary in that film,” he praised.

“It was an amazing thing when we were making Les Mis because we were doing it live and it was the first time any of us had done it…She basically educated the rest of us on how to do it.”
