Edgware Road stabbing: Fourth teen arrested on suspicion of murder after Josiph Beker was knifed to death outside KFC

A fourth teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old was fatally stabbed outside KFC on Edgware Road.

Police were called to the Edgware Road KFC, near the junction of Church Street, just before 2pm on Tuesday.

Josiph was found suffering stab injuries. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries five hours later.

A post-mortem found he died from a stab wound to the chest.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday and is currently in custody at a south London police station.

Two more 16-year-old boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have already been charged with his murder on Saturday, appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on the same day.

A third teenager, aged 18 was arrested on Friday in connection with the murder but has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating, led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge.

Josiph, also known as Youssef, was studying business at nearby City of Westminster College.

His cousin, 19, told the Standard this week: “It’s awful to think he might have still been alive if he hadn’t gone to college.

“He told his mum that he didn’t want to go, saying he wasn’t well and hadn’t had much sleep the night before.

“His mum doesn’t know what to do. She has been crying all day and hasn’t been able to eat or slept since.”
