Edinburgh A720 'serious incident' sees emergency services on the scene as drivers warned

Edinburgh motorists have been warned following a 'serious traffic incident' on Friday afternoon.

Around 12.30pm on November 29, The A720 at Lothianburn Westbound has been closed as emergency services rush to the scene triggering a huge tailback of traffic.

The exact nature of the incident is unknown at this time. It's not clear how many vehicles were involved or whether there have been any injuries.

Traffic Scotland warned motorists to approach with caution.

They wrote on X, formally known as Twitter: "The A720 is closed to all westbound traffic due to a road traffic incident. Road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times."

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
