Edinburgh Airport's check-in hall is set to undergo a huge £5.8million revamp aimed at giving passengers more space.

Bosses at Scotland's busiest airport have unveiled plans to introduce new self-service technology and digital wayfinding among other improvements currently taking place.

The investment will see zones A and D redesigned to create an "improved, more seamless experience for passengers." Zone A, used by Ryanair, will benefit from digital wayfinding, video walls and new self-service machines.

Zone D, used by Jet2 and other airlines, will also see an open collector and digital wayfinding introduced. The layout of check-in desks will also be reconfigured while both areas will see a new, larger open area.

The improvements will reportedly result in the creation of 70 per cent more space in zone A. Works will take place throughout the winter months and are expected to be complete by spring 2025.
