Edinburgh Airport is set to launch a 'tranquil' lounge offering an escape from the busy terminal.

Escape Lounges will be offering up local cuisine, curated drinks and a warm welcome. The lounge will be open to all travellers, regardless of airline or ticket class.

Guests can pre-book to guarantee a spot, or show up on the day. They can expect "plush and relaxing" seating, with high speed wifi and power outlets.

A spokesperson for Escape Lounges said: "Escape Lounges are a unique and tasteful representation of the local area, and this new Edinburgh Airport location will follow suit.

"The dedicated, tranquil space away from busy airport terminal will take inspiration from many elements of the Scottish capital, especially its historical beauty and its many green spaces and parks that encompass the surrounding areas. In-house chefs will also be influenced by the region, creating freshly prepared, locally inspired seasonal hot and cold dishes for guests to enjoy during their visit.

"The fact this lounge will take inspiration from our capital city is particularly special as we leave a strong lasting impression of Scotland, and bid guests farewell in the best possible way. We look forward to working with our partners at Escape Lounges on the success of this fantastic space when it opens in 2025."

Kevin Srhier, Chief Experiences Officer at CAVU, parent company of Escape Lounges, added:“We’re delighted to be extending our network of Escape Lounges into Edinburgh Airport. Inspired by the region, this new lounge will allow us to provide an Escape to Remember to even more passengers flying out of this key airport, through food, drinks and a locally inspired lounge space."
