An Edinburgh pub has introduced a popular eatery as a "permanent fixture".

The Edinburgh Cider House in Stockbridge, the city's only cider-pouring tap room, has welcomed Smoke and Soul as they serve up wood fired soul food. After first coming to the pub in January as a trial, the restaurant will now be there full-time.

Owners said the cider and 'award winning comfort food' is a perfect combination. The restaurant has previously appeared at the Pitt, and also has venues in Aberdeen.

Ahead of opening, Edinburgh Cider Co said: "We have been trialling Smoke and Soul’s Wood fired soul food in the tap room since January and it’s a roaring success, we have decided to make it a permanent fixture at 42 St Stephen Street.

"The combination of our award winning cider coupled with the excellent award winning BBQ comfort food, who appeared at Edinburgh's most loved street food hub the Pitt as one of the Scottish street food awards finalists is a great combination.
