Edinburgh Bypass collision leads to warning as power outage takes out traffic lights

A collision has led to a warning for drivers heading onto the Edinburgh City Bypass on Saturday.

The incident was first reported at around 1.55pm, on February 1. Traffic Scotland said the A720 between the Millerhill Junction and the Sheriffhall Roundabout was restricted, with emergency services understood to be on the scene.

A power outage has also taken out traffic lights at Sheriffhall Roundabout, with drivers urged to take 'extra care'. The condition of those involved in the collision are not currently known.

Traffic Scotland posted to X: "NEW 1.55pm.

"A720 Millerhill Jct - Sheriffhall Rbt. The A720 is currently restricted, at Sheriffhall Roundabout, due to a road traffic collision.

"A power outage has also caused the lights to stop working on the roundabout so do take extra care Updates as we get them."

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
