Edinburgh cafe owner issues heartfelt message to customers as 'days are numbered'
An Edinburgh cafe owner has issued a heartfelt message to his loyal customers.
Owner Pelham Hill has been running Renroc for over 12 years on Montgomery Street but due to a 'steady decline in business', he shared that his 'days are numbered'.
The cafe's lease is now up for sale and Pelham will remain at the cafe until a new tenant is found.

Posting on Cafe Renroc's Facebook page, he said: "It is with very heavy heart that I am letting you all know that my days at Renroc are numbered. Due to a steady decline in business and vast increases to overheads, my decision was, to be honest, a simple one.
"I have given notice on my lease to my landlord and whilst I will remain at the cafe for the time being until the landlord finds a new tenant, I will be spending the next few days away planning my future."
He announced that while he would be leaving the cafe behind, a mobile version of the beloved neighbourhood cafe will be launching.
The post continued: "This will include the full launch of Simply Pelham - a mobile version of Renroc available to cater for you at your homes, offices and other outlets, amongst other ventures
"It has been an incredible 12 plus years where I have gained so many valued friends, loyal customers and neighbours, and a part of my life I will cherish forever. Thank you all on behalf of my three kids, Nathan, Niamh and Theo and me.
"In the meantime, I will be back at the cafe and reopen September 25.
"A huge heartfelt thank you also to my incredible wife Jacqui who has supported me and been my rock. Thank you all so much once again. Pelham, Nathan, Niamh and Theo."
Many gutted locals rushed to the comments where an outpour of well wishes quickly collected.
Proving how much the cafe will be missed, one replied: "We’re so sad but it sounds like there are exciting plans ahead for you and the family. We’ll always cherish those days we had sitting outside having lunch and a glass of wine and beer, coming along for breakfast rolls and coffees and of course the club sandwiches and Reubens of our dreams.
"Renroc was also the first place we took our baby girl to for brunch and was a saviour for us during the numerous lockdowns. Thank you so much, just wish we could visit more these days."
Another said: "Sorry to be reading this...but fully appreciate how hard hospitality is for people these days. Wishing you all the very best in your new venture."
"Och no! Very sad but best wishes for your future venture," a third commented.
